The Range of Content Action

In times of uncertainty, a state of mixed emotions has always been life affirming to me. It’s a range not explored as fully by the Western mind which is why I considered writing about it, as recognized experientially. A state of complete sadness, anger, or happiness has the disadvantage of biased action because most personal and everyday world problems are typically more complex. So depending on each person’s strengths a right combination of both positive and negative emotions sets the stage for good thought. Consequently, the result is a fairly accurate recognition of the good and less hopeful aspects of any situation, while remaining content. The contentment comes from the blend of emotions working as information about life. To me, this slightly trance-like state is more enjoyable than even pure happiness. Because in a state of surrender to mixed emotions, when the circumstances are right, a pallet of emotions are close by for translating thought in to action. Many people find this in poetry, music, painting, or some aesthetic expression. I cultivate this in most daily life.
