Minding Your Life

There are women in the world who do not have a boyfriend or a husband, and they live. I just thought somebody needed to put that in a sentence. They sometimes live lives that are filled with stories far beyond anyone’s imagination. They achieve things eventually that no one could achieve. Unfortunately, the world we live in is not built to understand people as a whole. It is made of categories and pairs. And when you do not fit any categories or norms of relationship status, it is assumed to be a tragedy or a defect. It is why being humiliated is a choice. Because when a man thinks you do not deserve to be a respectable woman, it tells way more about him than about you. When a man thinks less of you, it is because of where he stands, not because of where you stand. At times, it is for good reason why relationships are a form of misfortune because it essentially is a sign that something far more important awaits your attention. Something that can potentially change many lives instead of just one.
